Kim and Jamieson’s Key Biscayne beach wedding was simple, intimate, and so relaxed! Miami is one of their favorite places, so they chose to get married on a beach with a view of the city. They were also going on a cruise the next day! What a perfect way to celebrate!
Pinterest makes it seem like the perfect wedding is huge and extravagant, with a $100,000 budget. Then just add expensive details, a five-layer cake, and make it a huge party with over 500 guests. But I personally think that smaller weddings are better and more intimate!
Kim and Jamieson did the best thing . . . They invited seventeen of their closest family and friends to the beach to watch them get married!
The weather was amazing, with no rain even though it was about 74% humidity. Kim and Jamieson set up a unique palm branch arch on the beach at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park! Long name, beautiful park. It has a quiet beach with a lighthouse and views of downtown Miami in the distance!
Before the wedding, I chatted with Kim for a while over emails and Facebook messages to make sure everything was in place for their big day. As we talked, I learned that Kim loves ice cream just as much as I do!
Finally the big day arrived, and I was extremely excited and happy for Kim and Jamieson. It was our first time meeting in person, but when I got there, Kim said, “I feel like I know you already!”
One of the most important things that I believe in is a personal experience. It makes a wedding day so much better. I try to get to know my couples before the wedding, and to be there for them whenever they have questions that I can help with. When my couples know me and are comfortable with me, their portraits look more natural and effortless! Plus we have more fun!
Kim and Jamieson, thank you so much for letting me be part of your lives and your family this day. It was a blast!
